Post and Beam classic in Sherman Oaks stays true to form.
Neal J. Leitereg Contact Reporter
This post-and-beam in Sherman Oaks Estates, a shining example of the modernist form, was restored and updated in keeping with architect Richard Dorman's original footprint. Clean lines and classic midcentury details form the crux of the home, built in 1959. Walls of floor-to-ceiling glass blur the line between balanced, open-plan interiors and the natural beauty of the outdoors.

Richard Dorman-designed post-and-beam comes full circle in Sherman Oaks
BY Neal J. Leitereg
Originally designed by architect Richard Norman, this Midcentury home in the Sherman Oaks Estates neighborhood has a new lease on like thanks to a recent restoration by artist Chris Salay.
Vintage tongue-and-groove ceilings and Terrazzo floors blend with such updates as new cabinetry and fixtures in the bathrooms and kitchen. Walls of glass and windows take in drought-tolerant landscaping and a swimming pool on the one-acre site.
